13 year ago, Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) came into existence in 2006-07 which is successfully run by the Welfare and Rehabilitation Board, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

This scheme was introduced with the aim of providing financial assistance for children of Central Armed Police Forces & Assam Rifles (CAPFs & AR) and State Police Personnel. Under this programme, CAPF & Ar and State police personnel children gets scholarship amount for higher professional and technical education.

For CAPDs & Assam Rifles

  • Wards/Widows of deceased CAPFs & AR Personnel
  • Wards/Widows retired and serving personnel
  • Those who are pursuing following courses in first Professional degree like Engineering, Medicine, Dental, Veterinary, BBA, BCA, Bpharma, BSC(Nursing & Agriculture), MBA, MCA
  • Candidates who have 60% or above marks in MEQ (Minimum Entry Qualification) or 10+2/Diploma/Graduation or Equivalent for Freshers

For State Police Forces

  • Dependent wards of State Police Personnel (Martyred in Terror/Naxal attacks)
  • Those who get admission into Engineering, Medicine, Dental, Veterinary, BBA, BCA, B pharma, BSC(Nursing & Agriculture), MBA, MCA
  • Those who clear MEQ (Minimum Entry Qualification) with 60% marks

Step 1: New Registration

  • Visit the National Scholarship Portal at https://scholarships.gov.in/
  • Click on New Registration link from the top of the page.
  • Tick mark agree to following tick box.
  • Press CONTINUE.
  • Enter all the necessary information in empty text boxes.
  • Save & Print the registration form for future use.

Login/Renewal

Step 2: For Fresh/Renewal

  • If you are fresh or Renewal students and already registered then go for LOGIN option.
  • As your hover the mouse on the LOGIN button, There will be two option Fresh 2020-20 or Renewal 2020-20.
  • Choose that option that category you are going to apply.
  • Enter Application ID & Password along with CAPTCHA Code for security.
  • Apply for the scholarship and print the application form for future use.

Yojana Rewards/Amount

  • For the each academic year 5500 scholarships for Girls & Boys will be given under this PMSS Scheme. (For )
  • Candidates will get some amount of financial support as mentioned below
    • Girls: Rs.3000/- Per Month
    • Boys: Rs.2500/- Per Month

Duration of Scholarship Award: End of the Course

Renewal Rules

  • Those who clear academic year of the semester with at least 50% marks
  • Candidates must have to clear the semester/year at first attempt
