INSPIRE SHE Scholarship Scheme 2020

We can say that SHE is the specially designed scholarship scheme for praiseworthy students pursuing bachelor’s and master’s courses in Natural and Basic Sciences. According to reports, 12,000 scholarship offered every year by the government of India.

Department of Science and Technology (DST) a venture of Government of India has introduced one of the best scholarship programme named as INSPIRE Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE). Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research is famously known as INSPIRE.

Scholarships Provided by INSPIRE

With an aim to award the scholarship to the one million young students of the India who belong comes under 10 to 15 years of age group. The amount of Rs.5000/- as the scholarships will be provided to the Class VI to Class X students. Under this scheme, class XI students will get summer camps with global leaders in science so they can feel the job of innovations.

Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE)

Those who are interested to get higher education in science-intensive programs can apply for this scholarship. Under this scheme, 10,000 students of 17 to 22 years of age will get a scholarship amount of 0.80 lakh per year.

Assured Opportunity for Research Careers (AORC)

This scheme is started with the aim of attaching the young scientific human resources for increasing the R & D foundation and base.

INSPIRE Scholarship 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit:

  • As on cut off date, candidates who fall under the age group of 17 to 22 years they are eligible to apply for this scheme.
  • No upper age relaxation for special reserved & reserved category candidates.

Education Qualification:

Essential Qualification for Students
  • Nominees who are pursuing BSC or BS and Integrated MSC/MS level in Natural and Basic science in the same year of passing 12th class.

Top Science Institutes Students

  • Those who are pursuing BSC and MSC degree in natural/basic sciences from Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER)
  • National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER)
  • Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Basic Sciences (DAE-CBS) they can apply.

Government Scheme Scholar

  • KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojna)
  • National Talent Search Examination (NTSE)
  • Olympiad Medallists and Jagadish Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS) scholar 

Top 1% in Board Exam

  • Candidates who are among the top 1% of the successful students in terms of aggregate marks in his/her class 12 board exam they can apply for this scheme.

Top 10,000 in National Competitive Exam

  • Those students can apply for this scheme whose rank is among 10000 rankers in Joint Entrance Examination of IIT
  • AIEEE (top 20000 rankers)
  • cleared CBSE-Medical (AIPTM) and have chosen to study Natural/Basic Sciences.

INSPIRE Scholarship Amount

  1. Maximum Award Amount: 80,000/- per annum
  2. Maximum Period of Scholarship Duration: 5 Years
  3. Annual Scholarship: 60,000 (DBT – Direct Bank Transfer)
  4. Summer Time Attachment Fee: Rs.20,000/- (Will be paid as mentor ship every year).
  5. The amount will be transferred to a scholar’s SBI account.

Different Schemes:

INSPIRE Awards:

  • 6 to 10 class students are eligible for this award
  • Students who belongs to 10 to 15 years of age group can apply for this scholarship.
  • 2 lakhs students get award under this scheme.
  • Scholarship amount of Rs.5000/- are provided to per child.

INSPIRE SEATS:

  • Students must be among top 1% in the class and they must be studying in 11th science.
  • Age group should be 16 to 17 years.
  • For summer/winter camps, selection committee select 50,000 students for interaction with global leaders in Science.

INSPIRE Scholarship Selection Process

Selection Process
  • Selection will be done on the basis of cut off marks released by the authority.
  • Provisional offer letter should download by the students before the due date.
  • Shortlisted candidates will have to upload all the necessary documents before the specified timeline.
  • Selected candidates will get scholarship awards to SBI bank account via Direct Bank Transfer (DBT).

INSPIRE Scholarship Renew

  • Renewal of Scholarship will be possible if good academic performance in the exam conducted by the university.
  • Students will have to fill Scholarship Renew Application Form 2020 every year.
  • Students must have to score at least 60% marks or 7.0 GPA on a 10.0-point scale in the annual examinations each year (or 2 semesters) to successful renewal of Scholarship Programme.

Rules to be Followed by Candidates:

  • INSPIRE-SHE is granted to students for a period of five years, starting from the 1st year B.Sc., BS, Integrated M.Sc/MS or until the end of the course, whichever occurs earlier.
  • Applicants must provide application form with all the mandatory information else the form will be rejected.
  • Subjects pursued in Distance Education mode at the Open Universities and other professional courses are not carried under SHE scholarship. Subjects including Engineering, Medicine, Defence Studies, Agriculture, Military Science, Psychology, Home Science, Geography, Seed Technology, Anthropology, Economics, Education (including B.Sc.-B.Ed. dual degree course), Computer Applications, Bio-informatics, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Instrumentation, Information Technology, Physical Education.
  • The student must have a regular Savings Bank Account in any branch of the State Bank of India (SBI) only. It should not either joint account or on the name of their relative.
  • It is mandatory for all the students to submit their year-wise performance report (signed by the Head of the Institution) and mark sheet of their BSc, BS, Int. MSc/MS course for the release of the scholarship. Head of the Institution refers to Vice-Chancellor/Registrar/Dean of Science in the case of Universities and Principal/Vice-Principal/Proctor/Officer-in-Charge in case of colleges.
